Living near Leatherhead, with my daughter and our dog.  Working as a priest and psychotherapist.  Very happy to hear from anyone in 69/74, particularly those involved in the choir/Mikado.  Have 'grown into myself' since the Downer days, and would like to see if you all have, too!  Best way to contact: mailforshirley at aol dot com

Despite the handle, this is actually Shirley Boggis calling.  Although now I'm called Cooper.  Wouldn't you have married with a name like that?  Actually, the man owning the name is no longer around, but he left his legacy, a daughter called Stephanie, who is a little sweetie.  Sam (enchanted evening) is how I now prefer to be addressed, but I'll answer to anything, given enough encouragement.  I think in my Downer days I was considered a bit of a nerd (or whatever the current term is).  However, times move on, and I'm now a qualified psychotherapist and priest.  Even more weird, I'm a vegetarian, but I promise I'm NEVER boring!  Anyone want to make contact?  I've heard recently from John Lawson, and I'd also like to hear from Mary Atkins, Joanna Novak, Jill Lancey, Ian Hay, John Cockram, and anyone who looks back on the Mikado and Eisteddfod days with fond memories.  My email address is: mailforshirley at aol dot com

By the way, Lee Fosbury as was, didn't you used to live in Vancouver Road?

Yes I most certainly did - and you were a recruitment consultant at one time I seem to remember in Edgware - and lived behind, or in the road next to, the Gateway Pub in Harrow?

We used to walk to school together, ah how sweet.

Baker… Baker… Boggis… Budd
That's as far I as I can remember in the right order for the school register.  It may have been 'Column' after that, and then me… did we have any "E's" (and I don't mean the drugs) in our class??

Hi Lee,

You're quite right about the recruitment bit - Brook Street Bureau in Harrow, Edgware, and then lots of other branches.  And yes, I did move to Harrow, and lived in Amersham Road, before they made it all terribly beautiful and even more expensive.  Haven't been to Harrow for years now, although have lived all over the place from Devon to California.  Now in Surrey, near Leatherhead.

I'm afraid I'm useless at remembering our classmates, so I haven't a clue about any beginning with E!  Just sorry I can't make the reunion.  I'm a priest and I've got two weddings and an Alpha course that day.

Any chance of a class reunion another time?

I just have to ask how you make that leap of faith from recruitment to Priest?

Lee; if I had to sum it up in a sentence, I guess it was the thought, "There must be something more to life than this!"  To flesh that out a bit, I suppose it was to do with some experiences I had when various people died, and a constant sense of not quite ever being alone.  If you want to know more (and I've probably already put you off forever!) send me your email address and I'll try to explain.

Hi Shirley

I remember you well - I was in the attic digging out old school photos over the weekend, as I may not get another chance before the 8 June,  and found most of the ones that Graham Leask and I shot during dress rehearsals of the Mikado.  Now slightly yellow with age - both me and the pictures - but I'll bring them along to the reunion.

Best wishes
